It's just somebody on an ego trip whose work has to be brought to public prominence to have any validity.

So, I'm guessing you don't think much of Da Vinci, Picasso, Dali and Warhol then, to name a few of the most fanatical self-publicists?

A desk and chair is a desk and chair, whatever scale it is. To my mind it's not scale that makes the piece art, it's expression of form.

Well, yes it is a desk and a chair but I reckon it's a combination of the scale (it's a big expression of the form in this case) and location (somewhere you wouldn't expect it) that makes it art. If it was normal desk and chair size it would more likely to be "just a desk and a chair in a field".
I quite like it actually.

Anyway, like all art it's provoked lots of debates...

I'm not sure it even is a desk and a chair. It might look like one, but it wouldn't fulfill the function of a desk and a chair for anyone I know. "Desk" and "chair" aren't just matters of appearance - ceci ce n'est pa un pipe!

oh for a nice pile of bricks to look at but they must be worth ££££££££££££or there not art . you can keep your builders rubbish but then again
