I could of course just jet wash it but its not in great condition in some places and is breaking down. In other places that would be fine.
There are a lot of solutions on the market, anyone got any recommendations?
I'm thinking scrape as much away as possible, brush it, pour on moss killer, hose off. The drives quite steep so will be fairly easy to wash off with a hose.
Obviously will need redoing periodically

Any recommendations on a moss killer?

Many thanks

Mark

I've recently used a product called wet and forget, I got it in Costco, it's absolutely brilliant.
Siimilar to you I had moss in the Tarmac drive, I applied this product with a watering can to the drive, we also have a large area of resin bonded gravel so I soaked that as well, it took about 3 weeks but the moss just turned to dust and brushed away. It's not friendly to grass or plants so you have to be carefull when applying.

I use Roundup in a spray from the concentrated form on the weeds and moss on my gravel driveway. I works fairly well.

Armillatox works well on moss and is a good cleaner for slabs etc. You just wet the surface with the stuff (diluted and applied with a watering can) and leave it.

The other downside of just power washing is that is spreads tiny bits of moss everywhere, that then grow where they land, it looks great for a few months then is worse than ever. And yes I now have moss growing all over one wall of my house that was downspray! Grr...

Moss doesn't like bleach a dilute solution will kill it.

Salt....

If you've got any left over from winter that didn't get used on salting your drive for the ice.... sprinkle it over the moss.... takes a while but does the job and is very environmentally friendly +

:ho2

I just glugged some into the watering can about a quarter of a bottle of Domestos to about two gallon of water, kinda strongish.

Using a pressure washer with a turbo nozzle can damage tarmac, a Flat Surface Cleaner (FSC) attached to the pressure washer would usually be used.
But it's likely that you don't have all that equipment so I would scrape off the bulk amount and spray the remnants with a moss killer product.
Concentrated Bleach is great on moss/algae but you have to be aware of plant life, wildlife and that it doesn't get into the drains.
Also bleach is alkali and can discolour surfaces.

I tried using bleach a few weeks ago but the moss is already coming back with this damp weather.
