Started snowing on Boxing Day 1962 & the roads weren't clear of snow until about April.Benchwayze":2oirwaej said:That would be around 1963 I reckon... The year there was 1/4" thick ice on both sides of the bathroom window!

I remember a gang of men with shovels clearing the snow. They were having to throw it way over their heads to keep it from falling back. We were cut off for about 10 days & the first vehicle out was a tractor used for moving the muck. The farmer reached the shops & filled the bucket with milk, bread & other essentials. Bread wasn't sliced or even wrapped in those days but I don't remember anyone being worried about it being dirty, just relieved to get something to eat.

The five blade jobs work well while taking a shower using only water as a lubricant. Having bought the so called better 5 system I determined to use it until the blades are used up, rather than throw it away. Then go back to the 3ers.
Not tight fisted just my age.
