Hongdui HD-TB01 Miter Gauge - bolt size?

Hi all,

I have this excellent Hongdui aftermarket mitre gauge & fence, but today I lost the small black allen key bolt that holds the circle on the end that keeps the mitre bar in the T-slot (Circled on pic). I can't find any info on what size this bolt should be to source a replacement. It's pretty small! The oproduct listing has lots of dimensions on it, but not of the bolt itself.

Anyone have this that can shed some light for me?

Just from the look of it, try an M4 and an M5 machine screw.
When you know what the thread is, you can get a countersunk one in a short length like 12 or 16mm that you can cut and file down to length.
I'd get a replacement in stainless steel with a torx socket in place of the hex socket. I think torx are harder to strip when you are tightening them.
These are cheap and easy to source on ebay but it all starts with testing the thread for size.

It is the same, but I don't know what that size is to order some more. Nothing on my shelves seems to be right thread size so far, I'll have a more in depth search!

It'll be as Sideways says, M4 or M5. Might be M3, although that's pretty small. It will probably be metric coarse, but it just might be fine. Being (I assume) Chinese, it won't be any other thread apart from metric, at least I've never seen them use anything else. The diameter of the head, will give the thread size. Length is the length of the thread. You'll find a chart that gives head sizes somewhere online easily enough. If you have calipers, just measure the thread.

I have the same mitre gauge. The machine screw you need is M4 x 8mm Socket Head Countersunk. I've just checked my cache of M4 threaded fasteners and WYB I have exactly what you need, albeit in "posh" stainless steel. I have about 20 of them so I can easily spare a couple. If you can't sort it locally, you could send me your address and a postage label download link and I'll put them in the post. BTW the length of countersunk fasteners is measured from head to tail overall.
