No1 son lives and works in Londres and can be a bit dismissive of Salisbury (his term for it is Smallbury) but when he's here and we're in town (especially Christmas Day morning) we always, without fail, have to go and see the cathedral - Rob

I lived in London and couldn't wait to get away to somewhere of a more human scale. Tried Suffolk first and now rural France. They (whoever they are) can keep the big city and concrete, give me fresh air, green fields, friendly neighbours along with the occasional inspirational work of man any day.

Sorry, Russell, we seem to have nicked your thread. However, it shows that there is stuff out there to inspire and take us 'out of ourselves'
