Hi switch as default for Hetty Numatic?

Hi all. I have a Hetty numatic that I use as a shop vac for small ish tools and is linked to to a cyclone with a short run of ducting too.

It has a high / low switch and I’m looking to permanently set it to high. Currently it starts as low and then I have to switch it to high. It’s on a remote switch so setting to high manually defeats the objective a bit. I have only found one video on YouTube which involved replacing the switch with an LED. However when I tried this you only get the low setting.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if so have any guidance or resource I could turn to? Thanks

Maybe the motor is designed to start with low to avoid high current draw and then switch to high when it's running?
