I don't think it's a particularly well made piece of furniture for the following reasons,

1. The mitre on the top moulding, between the straight section on the right and the curved section in the middle, isn't very well executed.

2. There's no attempt to carry the grain across from the flat drawer on the right to the curved drawer in the middle, which suggests that the curved drawer has been covered with a cheap 0.6mm commercial veneer. Where as the drawer fronts on the left and right are overlay drawers, cut from the solid, that haven't been hand dovetailed into the drawer sides.

3. The moulded edges on the overlay doors look like they were routed.

4. It looks like a sprayed lacquer finish that has started to chip on the edges.

Therefore, I'd guess that the "string beading" is a pre-moulded commercial product that was painted with a gold effect paint and glued on, which is what the top edge moulding also looks like.

well u got a "good eye" =D> and it's true its a cheap 0.6mm commercial veneer
i have saw it in reality but it seem not to be apply.....but the top edge it is so as u said,glued
so how its the exact name for "string beading" that i can search about it
i call it so because i didn't know how to name it
.... thanks

I'd guess you could accomplish that by:

- hand carving, using a half-round gouge;

- router, with the right router cutter, like an ovolo bead cutter; perhaps with a template and guide bearing for ease of repeat.

- cheat and buy a strip - like this.
