Two things!

1. All of a sudden, when I pass wood through, it gets stuck just after the back roller, or when it does go through, there are black roller marks all over. Any suggestions as to what this could be? the rollers are clean. It feels like possibly the back roller is jammed or something, but I'm not sure how to safely diagnose that?

2. In trying to diagnose problem one, I took off the cover to see if there was access to the rollers (there wasn't). Now I'm not sure what I have done wrong here, but when I replace the cover, the locking switch for the blade block is still engaged so that it won't rotate. I'm assuming that's wrong? and that the little triangle thing on the cover is suppose to release the locking switch?

Can't help with 2 but 1 sounds like a build up of resin or other carp on the bed. Give it a good clean (white spirit or similar) and wax it up and you should be fine.

How do I know? Exactly what happened to me!

Try a squiggle of candle wax on the beds. Always good practice to keep them slick.

Ok - so I did this and it worked wondefully! (cleaner and paste wax). I guess rubbing your hand over the bed to feel for resistance is not a good indication, so I'll be doing this every time I use it, as it only takes a minute.

As for the other issue I was having, I had to take the side panel off to see what was up, and only then could I reposition the top panel in such a way as to disengage the rotation lock. Not sure whats up with that, but it was easy enough to do.

Now I'm back to planing happily!
