Hi there,

This is my 1st post, so if it's in the wrong place, I'm sorry about that,

My parents are moving an my Dad needs to sell his beloved Startrite Bandsaw which he has brought second hand about 20/30 years ago. It has only had light use since he has owed it and is in fantastic condition.

We have absolutely no idea how much it is worth and was hoping for some advice.

It was originally an old school machine and has a cast iron table, with case aluminum frame (frame approx 1/4 inch). It use to be a 3 phase machine but has been converted to 240v - has 4 speeds and the guide swivels for bends.

We would be really grateful if anyone could tell us how much it i worth, we don't want to overprice it but at the same time, we don't want to give it anyway.

Thanks in advance :)

Have you tried looking on ebay or on line to find the same or similar model to get an idea of it's value.
Failing that look at slightly newer models and see how much they are selling for and compare your models specs to those.
Startrite usually bring good prices so do your homework :D
Good luck.

Hi Paul,

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. It is much appreciated.

I have tried looking on ebay but they all look so different to this one and the prices vary enormously, i will keep searching the net, hopefully I will be able to find a similar one somewhere !

Thanks again

Caterina

LOOKS as if it might be something by another maker that was re-badged by Startrite - they did that with Inca machines at one time, but it doesn't look like any Inca that I've seen.
What is the maximum distance from the table to the upper blade guides? This would give the potential capacity of the saw and you could then look at secondhand machines of similar capacity from other manufacturers to get an idea what it might be worth. Bear in mind that even if it's only rebadged by Startrite, not made by them, they didn't deal in rubbish!
