Philip, and anybody else for that matter.
If there are any of your submissions , even part way through a longer thread that you feel have useful critique content feel free to go back and add a post heading via the edit menu and PM me with the link, (>right click the heading >copy shortcut) I will endeavor to add them to the reference.

In earlier versions of the PHP forum software all individual postings could be easily reference via a specific subject Icon (the little envelope) regardless of post heading, now however having lost the envelope icon it appears that it can only be done via a specific subject heading for individual posts.

Just adding a little to what Mark has said and to a couple of things I said earlier in the thread.

I mentioned the Birmingham Bash and inferred that to obtain the maximum benefit from the experience - ask questions.

As a leader to the design ideas bit above I mentioned two talks I gave. (freebies) Ample oppportunity was given for questions and interruptions for partiipants. No-one voiced an opinion during the two sessions, a couple of questions were asked at the end.

Howver, much was said afterwards on the Club site. This may be something to do with 'being British' but it is very frustrating for the speaker or demonstrator not to be challeged at the time. I am happy to share what was said about me afterwards if you wish to see the comments look here, there are experts everywhere:

You have to be thick skinned and have nerves of steel to offer yourself up for Club Nights! Having said this everyone is entitled to there say and have opinion. The talk obviously had an effect.

The main benefit of a Forum is you can ask questions more or less annoymously but if you don't pose the question or voice an opinion, an answer or explanation won't be forthcoming. The contributor will assume enough information has been given or there is no interest. By sharing your views and making suggestions, we all learn a thing or two.

Whether you like the output or not is perhaps not too important - someone else will. I'm not sure I like the bowl or joss stick holder above but I can appreciate the work and ideas that have gone into it and from that I can develop the idea and perhaps create something that has similar characteristics and appeal to others. I particularly like the "multi-function" approach. It occurred to me that had the base been finished differently you could have out a tea light in that as well, especially as it is a different forma and colour.
Thanks for your input Dave you immediately sussed the reasons for reference, look at something - assess its worth take the idea and alter it, expand it, add to it so it belongs to you. The easiest thing in the world to do is a direct copy or plagiarise. More fun and satisfying to think the thing through and have complete ownership and pride in what you have made
