looking at getting some decent wood (ie not pine from B&Q) for some small scrolling and small DIY projects (well shape, round and suchlike), and this place shows up, but TBH i dont know if the prices are ok for what they are selling, or the quality they have!

i cant find anywhere nearby that advertises and at the moment i am just looking around.

I have used them. Good quality stuff and fair prices. I would trust them to send me decent stuff although I am local so would go and collect it.

If you want stuff machining it can take 3 or 4 weeks to be done

Notwithstanding the quality of their stuff, what's the general experience of delivery costs of moderate quantities - say, about 10 cube - over distance at an affordable cost?

I would say it looks a bit expensive to me doing a rough calculation. My skirting boards were £11 a metre, the same profile, height and thickness is £17 a metre on there. Also, their Ash is only marginally cheaper than their Oak, whereas at the place I use it's a third cheaper to go for Ash over Oak. So on an ash skirting the price difference would be around 100%.

Have a look at Scawton Sawmill their prices are very good if you're looking for oak to be delivered.

Over last couple of months, I've bought 5 packs of their 'kiln dried oak' packs, by post. A good experience, plus the guy on the phone is refreshingly friendly and helpful.
