Hardwood & Exotic timber merchants

Hi,

I am looking for timber merchants who stock ebony and other exotic timbers, for making snooker cues.

I also want to buy American/Canadian ash.

I live on the boarder of Surrey, Berkshire & Hampshire.

Can anybody suggest somebody local, as I would like to view the materials before buying.

American Ash and British Ash...they're pretty similar. I wouldn't specify one rather than the other.

Given your location you should firstly try Surrey Timbers, they'll have the Ash but may not have exactly the Ebony you want, if not try Timberline in Kent. If they don't have it then you're really snookered, ho ho ho.

Yandles stock 11/2 and 2 inch sq macassar ebony in 18 and 24 inch. You will get your ash there too

As custard said, Surrey timbers is a good bet. I'm pretty sure I saw ebony when I was last there. Very helpful and friendly guys too.
