Among my interests is the building/refurbishment of horse drawn vehicles .
This particular job entails the building of a gypsy wagon onto an existing vehicle so I havnt bothered to document it .
I will however shortly be starting a one from scratch , which will entail several months work.
If there is any interest I will show it from day one including the building of the wheels etc

Mod Edit:- Image orientation.

It's something I'd love to make one day so please do post pictures. The one in the pic looks good so far !

I'd be very interested. I still have an old Stratford woodburner that I was told came from a bowtop. I think they are pretty rare now. Charming old stove.
I'd love to see a build all the way through.
Cheers

That's not your average diy in the shed woodworking - that's serious stuff!
I'd be very interested in any wip - especially the question of whether it's best to build a traditionally styled project using the hand tools it was always made with vs using power tools to imitate the form.

For example, the pattern of chamfers on a wagon like that would naturally suit a drawknife and spokeshave (I believe) and using a powered router might actually make the job harder, not easier.

But that's just my supposition - I'd love to watch while you make it for real.

would love to see it come together as a wip, i would also like to be cheeky and ask if you could post sizes during the build process, would like to make a scale model or two for my railway, cheers,

Yep, would also be interested in this. My mates next door neighbour has one in his drive that he is slowly renovating.

These are the last wheels I made ,currently being painted

Craftsmanship of the first order, the attention to finish detail can only add authority to the quality of the construction.

This may seem like a mad question but is it true they bounce really well?

W0w, waiting on the edge if my seat for the build thread. Stunning work, well done
