anyway the original question was what about the direction of the leg grain.
my impression is it does not matter, but :oops:

Paul - thanks for that, I was going to go away and have a good sulk :cry: , but having broad shoulders and a thick skin, I decided that an apologetic sort of approach might be more appropriate.
To answer your original question, in my view it doesn't matter which way round the leg grain goes as long as the wedge is positioned as per His Lordship's diagram, tho' happy to be corrected (again) if wrong :D - Rob

In fact I had to look more than twice at the pic you posted before I understood which way the grain was running, it was a mistake I could have made quite easy, and I'm not unacustomed to dropping clangers in fact I could point out at least one on every project I do, anyone who says they never make a mistake must only watch :norm:
