I’ve used EverBuild Instant Nails for my DIY projects (MDF, wood and uPVC type materials) and have been happy with its performance. I’ve not used any foam product. Instant Nails is reasonably priced so you could give it a go with minimal outlay to check its gap filling hold.

By far the best performance and value is STIXALL, other hybrid polymers are similar. So much better than gripfill and no nails.

The sudal range of grab adhesives are very good , they have a good range and the crystal one is over-paintable . But no mater how good they are - you may have to use something heavy to hold it in the position that you want for 12-24 hours. Of course the surface you are sticking it too must be free of dust or any loose paint etc . Consider using a suitable primer before applying the adhesive and allow it to fully dry - again overnight if need be .
