Hi Folks Just by way of a let you all know, I have purchased SIP SCROLL SAW, it's a tad early yet to be totally sure, but it appears to be a little beauty, been having some fun, even done my first jigsaw.
So thanks again to all those who gave me the thoughts abart different saws......

Good news bud! Hope it gives you plenty of reliable fun!! enjoy yourself and let us know and see what you get up to!
all the best,
Jay :)

Great! Hope it works well for you!

Don't forget to post photos of your work :) Nothing like a picture to show what can be done with a saw...

Happy sawing.

Christmas is just around the corner, so it's a great opportunity to get to know your saw by cutting decorations :) .

Thanks everyone, I certainly intend to have some fun, so much to try out, so little talent lol, but I guess trying it out helps increase the talent.
When and if I feel brave/foolish enough I will post some of the fruits of my labours.
Thanks again folks

well done Pete, what did you compare it against. Hope you have a great time cutting puzzles ect, and does it take pin less blades.

Hi Steve,
I did a lot of checking and re checking on line, a couple of the folks here in the forum also said its a good saw for the money.
I wanted a saw thats pretty easy to get on with, not one that would have me wanting to chuck it through the window lol.
I bought it from Tool Station at Rotherham for the princely sum of £79 ish.

First impressions are good, set the arm tension, and when you want to release the tension for blade changing you just flip a lever on top, at the back of the machine, change the blade, depress the lever, and away you go.
It take both pinned and unpinned blades, and you don't need any extras to do it, straight out the box and off you go, its really good for doing inside cuts, , even with my awkwardness I can stop and be back running in around a minute.
It's quiet, I'm running it on a table it is NOT bolted down, and the wife's had nowt negative to say about the noise (shes a bookkeeper, working out of the next room to me at home, ) and the saw dunt bother her at all.
And to top it all off, it's got a two year guarentee, the only glitch being that it a return to SIP for repair work, but I can live with that.
So all in all Steve I'm a happy bunny, wether or not it'll be the same in say six months after I have given it some real hammer I can't tell, but then again who can ? :)

that sounds like a good machine, i have a SIP planer/thicknesser and its really good, i'm suprised it takes both blades and nowt else to make it do so \:D/
have fun and dont forget pictures, we love pictures..
