Have just bought a Woodstar (owned by Sheppach) OS58 for £105 including postage. Anglia Tool Centre - ordered 1400 arrived 0815 following day. Is this really good value I wonder. The machine got the thumbs up in The Woodworker April edition.

W, I have given it a good look over at the shows and I think it looks quite good. You don't have a tiltable table, but I've never felt the need to tilt the table on my Charnwood bobbin sander, so that's no great loss I should think. The only other thing that might be an issue is the size of the table. Depends on what work your doing.

Would be great if you could fee back your thoughts on it. AFAICR there are a few members that have considered or queried it in the past.

Looks a good price, although as said I would have liked more space on the front of the table. Suppose you could recess it into a larger top if necessary. Would be interested to hear how you get on with it.

ive got the axminster version (47 notes on ebay *gloat*) and its more useful than i thought it would be - dead handy for rounding over handles on pushsticks and jigs and such for example

i think iys one of those tools that you dont miss until you've got one then you wonder how you got by without it

As I recall, Ironballs was thinking about buying one of these, last year...

I was indeed and now have one. Haven't had it too long so not put too much through it yet, but first impressions are good and once it gets some more use I'll give it a proper review. I have the Axi version and a massive Wadkin to compare it against at the college, so it'll be a fair review
