Forum saves me £150!!

A few week ago someone posted about house insurance.

I mentioned this to SWMBO.
This morning our Direct Line policy renewal came in the post
We have house & contents - the new premium was £395.85.
SWMBO rang them up & said she was going to look for another insurer.

There & then they reduced the premium to £246.75 - took less than 5 minutes :lol: :lol: :lol:

Glad you queried it and got a reduction. Can't help feeling though that this is now commonplace and, in other areas/trade, might even be regarded as a scam? If so why aren't the PTB (trading standards or whoever) investigating and taking appropriate action? Are Insurance companies immune?

Tom, I double checked this.
Each indivudual handbag is insured for a maximium of £2000 up to a total of £50,000 so yes the handbag collection is covered

I do it every year, save any snail mail spam to quote figures on renewal and the reduction comes through quicker than 4 minutes. :wink:

I changed my van insurance to Direct line this year but while looking at all the others online I made the mistake of entering my mobile number

For a whole week all I had was calls and texts trying to get me insure with loads of different companies. One guy rang up twice under two different company names I recognised his voice and then he put the phone down, very dodgy :lol:

So dont enter a mobile number unless you really have to, when getting quotes.
