I will! I just want to get £50 off rather than buying one and then the following day I get a voucher through the door!

I do wonder whether it is worth giving Festool a call, tell them you have had the vouchers in the past but were not looking for an extractor at the time but now you are and wanted to know if they have any marketing promotions coming up before you decide what you are going to buy. You never know, they may say wait and see but they may be more helpful than that.

I guess a call or email can do no harm!

There's no promos on and none planned at the moment. You can ring them and ask though if you want.

If you really have to get a bit more off then maybe get a demo guy out and they sometimes give you a voucher , but I'm sure you have to use it at your nearest dealer. No good if you want to buy online

I don't think they do that any more.

Well they didn't do it for me but then I forgot to ask. I have heard others say they've had them.

Stu just buy it lol

I'm just reluctant to buy it when I know I could have got £50 off if I bought it at a different time. I don't need it urgently as I've pretty much finished my non workshop project.

Then when the RRP goes up by £50 and/if they release another voucher you can be happy.

Previous vouchers have been £50 off anything, free batteries not just vac vouchers. But as you say, you don't need it now.

Buy the Fein, it's £80 less, or the Metabo, it's £140 less :), both very capable.

Unless you've got other festool stuff you want to colour match to I'd seriously consider another vac with similar specs.
I bought a festool vac and it's been nothing but issues from day one. imho you pay a premium for the name/brand.

What problems have you had?

had my midi 2.5 years its taken lots of abuse, fallen from 2m twice and hoovered up all sorts of rubbish, I empty the reusable bag when needed and bang out the filter occasionally and its still going strong.

An update :
After ignoring the uk festool reps advice and following another reps advice I've now put the bag back in the hoover. Now it beeps alot !! I have to remove the lid and shake the bag for it to stop which in my mind is just bonkers ! - the bags 36 litres and virtually empty !!!
I'm hoping after 37 months of ownership it'll completely stop working and not be cost effective to repair, then I can forget about the blasted thing and get another brand.

Don't let it put you off the brand. I've had a midi since 2007 ,one of my first Festool purchases. I then sold it and upgraded to a newer one when the vouchers were about. I don't think it cost me a penny lol.

Only problem I've had was the cable broke so I had to open it up and shorten the lead, simple fix.

Have a ct36 in the workshop never really had any problems with that but the midi has more suction!

The most embarrassing part is my workmate notices the beeping, I don't cause I've got my earmuffs/music on. It's almost like it needs a strobe light fitting or something. I see it as being a pointless exercise having a large capacity hoover, If the so called self clean bags clog quick enough to sound the alarm. The smaller more frequent bag change must be the better/eye wateringly expensive option.
The initial balls up with the lead and deliveries is long forgotten about. Now the issue is the beeping or the hoover not doing as advertised - self cleaning bag. I don't make a song and dance that often, particularly about tools, but the festool vac is definitely one of the those purchases that doesn't live up to anything like it's price tag !!!!!!!!

I was recently suggesting to my workmate that we should look into getting a better jigsaw. He asked what brands I've heard have good reviews then sniggered to himself as he suggested festool. Clearly the knowledge of the vac issues has already left it marks in his mind. I'd love to prove him wrong, but I can't risk the hassle and headache just this one vac has caused. Think in the end I suggested maffell as a good alternative.

The carvex gave me the same runaround you've enjoyed with the vac. I sold it, cut my losses and bought the Mafell, haven't looked back.
