I brought this from my usual source for top notch gear at bargain prices Facebook market place. And as usual it's from a retired guy whose barely used it and sells it off cheap.
It's a fairly specialised beast with some innovative features.
It's a delta sander in short so specialised for sanding in corners but it seems to do a decent job on the flat bits. The clever bit is its got a battery bundled with it but also has what I assume is a transformer that plugs into the battery bayonet with a plug it lead. So it's both battery and mains powered. It came with a systainer of delta sanding sheets 2 spare bases
a dust bag and a battery but no blooming charger! Honestly. It works really well. I can see it having use in the workshop and site(up ladders especially.) I paid £270 for it and it still has 2 years warranty! Bargain.

That is a bargain!!!.....Even without the charger.

I've had the 240v version for a number of years now and find it really useful. ( Bought mine second hand from a member of this Forum)

Seems to be a really useful item. One of those thing that's can improve your finish very quickly by getting in those neglected corners!

Look great, I'd have bought one if I could justify it but have the RO90.

Yes I wouldn't suggest it as a first buy sander. Do festool do any other mains/battery items? Seems a good idea.

The biggest issue with mains/battery tools is the current consumption.
To get similar performance, a low voltage tool will draw a much higher current than a mains tool and this makes the design of a cost effective power adapter challenging, particularly when startup peaks are factored in.
A smallish sander is likely to be relatively low powered with constant (ish) current demands, making a mains-battery power option feasible. I doubt many other tools will fit this category.

The Festool mains adapter will however work with a couple of their other sanders….

Note Hikoki also do an optional mains adapter for their 36v tools….
