Fake vintage hand tools?

In the wood carving forum, some folks were saying that there are fake old / vintage tools for sale in much hiked price.
Are there any obvious tell tale signs for detecting / spotting fake vintage hand tools?
Which makes / brands are likely to attract faking by the rogue sellers?

Here's one of the most researched examples I know of.
There are others and when you get your eye in it becomes obvious that someone has recently marked the tool.
