well if drivers drove to road laws your not supposed to enter the yellow box till your exit is clear for your vehicle to enter and leave that boxed area regardless of your vehicles length so if busses are blocking them thats due to poor drivers its' nothing to do with a vehicles length .hc

It's clear that you have never driven in London.

One of my beefs about motoring reports/jounalism is the 'dangerous road', or 'dangerous bend'. There ain't no such thing!
The next driver to to be savaged by an angry road will be the first!

Roy.

That is so naive. You are joking, I hope.

Take the yellow box at the junction of Baker Street and Wigmore Street. Traffic coming down Baker Street can turn left into the eastbound continuation of Wigmore Street. This junction is controlled by traffic lights. More often than not the eastbound continuation of Wigmore Street is solid with traffic. So you might get one car or maybe two being able to turn left from Baker Street during one cycle of the lights.

As the traffic 'empties' from this eastbound continuation, you maybe get one car slot opening up. The lights change in favour of those travelling east from Wigmore Street - ie straight on. There is a bendy-bus at the head of the queue. There is one cars' length - maybe two by now - available for the bus. According to the law of the land the bendy-bus should not proceed.

So he waits for what? The next light change? When the cycle repeats itself all over again and he still only has a car or two's empty space. No..he is a sensible and pragmatic driver and certainly does not have your Holier-than-thou mentality to driving. He goes forward as far as he can. Otherwise he will still be sitting there.

hi

your Holier-than-thou mentality to driving.

my holier -than-thou mentality , has seen me safely through the last forty five yrs of motoring all over europe thank you very much without accident or incident, why, because i wait my turn, shame others can't do the same. the bus driver has enough space for two cars(you say) if he lucky , so he go's he probarbly note even given thought about his passengers lives at the back of the bus now stuck blocking others entry into the yellow box which may have traffic approaching at speed, tired driver, driver not paying attention drivers misjudging lights etc get the picture , that why laws are made , laws are made for all our safety .
