Hi,

I want to make a pattern for a mould and I need two 40" x 4" lengths of a suitable wood in 1.5" thickness. I'd prefer Basswood but Jelutong or Lime (Poplar) would be ok as well, can anyone tell me the name of a supplier of suitable woods in or around Brighton, East Sussex ?

Thanks,

Boo

You could try Charles Wilment, who trades as Treespanner at Dormansland. I know he's got some lime and poplar. I've PM'd you his mobile number, which is the best one to get him on.

They aren't very close to Brighton but they ought to be on the map.

I've found them very helpful but you have to take pot luck as to what they have in stock at any time. Usually its a pretty good selection. Their ply is pretty good too and they deliver for £10.00

I was at Wests mill yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at the quantity of exotic available and their small users section where you can select what you need, I don't know if the prices are competitive as I lack experience on pricing

Thanks for the answers, Wests looks like the best bet so I'll probably drive down there next time I'm in that area.

Thanks again,

Boo
