EON:

They changed my meter (at their request kept sending letters, so eventually said 'yes')

Didn't turn up. Then second time turned up late.

From that day till we changed never got anything right with billing, meter numbers etc. Absolute shambles!

Changed to EDF, they're just as bad!!

It's a big cartel, they're all in it together!!

None as bad as BT though! Don't get me started about BT! Go on ask me about BT!

No problems with EON other than they're a bit cute when it comes to leaving me on a higher tariff when I would benefit from switching to another product.

Just got a quote from OVO - savings of £23 per year.

Just switched from British Gas TO e.on for both gas and electricity.

They're helpful on the 'phone (use saynoto0870 web site to find a free number), but it was a bit of a palaver getting it organised. They're threatening to save us between £250 and £650 p.a., so worth it. All the on-line comparison sites said they were the cheapest (for our rate of consumption, your mileage, etc.), although the actual calculated savings amount varied wildly.

I'm delighted to be shot of British Gas though: complacent, expensive, have idiots in their marketing department, and are very hard to deal with.

Cheers,

E.

My time switch for E7 tarriff between Christmas and New Year started to buzz and vibrate like a goodun keeping me awake at night...When i worked out what it was E.ON came very quickly and replaced it.

I was impressed with that anyhows.

Always got on well with EON.

I use one of their online only tariffs and change the tariff myself to whatever is cheapest every few months.

Get one tescos clubcard point for every pound spent as well.

I think support is by email only on this tarriff but its been quick before when I've needed to contact them.

And dont get me started on BT either...............

I moved to OVO last April on a dual fuel 12 month fixed price contract - saving around £350 pa compared to Altantic. Very professional, absolutely no problem either during the transfer(which included ceasing my economy 7 arrangement, the installation of a 'smart meter') or post.

As far as I know OVO don't 'support' the Economy 7 pricing. But I found out that Economy 7 had been costing me money for at least 20 years due to the difference in the day tariffs, so it was cheaper to move away from 'off peak' charging.

Golden, Don't know neither had I until I saw them on a website. Also my savings were high because I have storage heaters (rented property), so I use a lot of electricity, iirc we based our savings on an annual usage of 13000Kw.

Hanser, wasn't aware of that fact but hey as long as the overall bill goes south who cares about the details :D

My experience of EON

EON are our suppliers of infrastructure so we have no alternative there. We needed a meter moved round the corner – 2ft! Cost - £500 required as an up front payment, ordered in Oct of 2006, done in April 2007. Time taken by 2 men to do the work – 2.5 hours. EON, there seems to be a C missing from the name!
