I bought an old (old) elu flip saw a while back, and am now starting to get organized enough to contemplate what to do with the thing.
It works well, takes an age to come to a stop so I am limited as to where I can use it, but all in all seems safe. The only problem I have is the lack of a fence of any description. Does anyone have any suggestions, I also have the Ryobi ets1525sc, but feel I would get better service from the elu.
SO I am asking for help, again. purleeaase.
cheers
Neil
PS The only trouble is having just had a good look over the saw I am not sure it is capable of doing anything other than a standard 90' cut.
It looks as if it was not designed for mitre or bevel cuts, just as a chop saw, and flipped over as a straight cut table saw, with neither rise nor fall, nor tilt on the blade. Did Elu ever design such a saw, or am I deluded. I cannot see how the chop saw could mitre as the slot for the blade to cut through could not be swivelled, although there is a round metal feature on the saw top, which looks as if it could rotate. The slot for the blade, however, runs on a couple of onches past the end of the circular plate. (if you look at your SMS you will see a round section the blade sits over, that you lay the wood over). MMMhhh. Food for thought.
I dunno if i need a 'chopsaw'. oh dear.
