I think Picasa is a wonderful free programme which has its own space to use for this sort of thing....and is great at photo manipulation as well.

I've used Google's Picasa and it's very good for basic manipulations and storage but unfortunately Google stopped Linux compatibility so I can no longer use it.

However, Ubuntu comes with its own free 5GB cloud storage - Ubuntu One and it's also available for other systems as well.
