Spotted this at Pickering steam rally yesterday. Last year the same chap (I think) had a Hobbies treadle saw fitted with motor.
This one looked interesting but looked to have too much missing to even consider buying it.

That's an old hegner, notice the inverted colours (hammer) (hammer) (hammer)

That's the first time I have ever seen a Hobbies Anchor machine apart from a picture in a catalogue, how much did they want for it? This was a unique machine that offered a true vertical stroke using a steel band on ball bearing pulleys, they also made this as a bench model with a motor. It was first made in 1934 and cost £4.15.0 (£4.75) which was a lot of money then!

Looks an interesting bit of kit, I think you should have purchased. :wink:

How I miss exhibiting my engines at steam fares, and digging through what my wife called the rusty stalls. :(

John, there wasn't a price on it, and after the looks I got while taking a photo, I wasn't going to ask. There's no way I could have got it back to the car anyway, it was about half a mile or more away.
