Cordless power washer, anyone had one?

Isn't this more an issue of how one chooses to wash your car? I have a reasonable sized one, an Audi Avant and can wash the bodywork satisfactorily with just two buckets of water, one clean and one containing shampoo. Rinsing off would be just about possible with maybe an additional bucket of clean water.
Whilst I don't live on the coast we do get some seagulls so a fair amount of cr@p to clear...
Cleaning the alloys I use the incredibly cheap Elbow Grease cleaner available from B&M - this contains the same chemicals as the overpriced specialist ones that Halfords and similar sell, however this can be bought in 1L spray bottles @£1.99

I was an early adopter/mug and bought a Worx Hydroshot 29v. It promised the world but at a max of around 22 bar it feels like a finger over a hose would have more effect. I bought a big plastic bin, put it on castors andwas just about able to wash the van with it. Now, interestingly and frustratingly, I see they have a new model that operates at 56 bar on the 20v system. It’s around £199 though which is a lot more than I paid for my worxwimp model. I’d be more confident that at nearly three times more psi/bar it might suit your needs. Too late for me though. Once bitten etc…
My naff model is theWorx 20v hydroshot 210L/hr, 22bar.

Upgraded is the Worx Nitro 20v WG633E.1 220L/hr 56bar - could be worth a look.

You are preaching to the converted regarding elbow grease, I have used it for years, I used to own a second hand furniture business, elbow grease was the first thing to use on greasy mucky furniture, particulary kitchen cabinets, spray on leave for 20 minutes and most things wipe off, you can also get 1L refills

I did buy some expensive (to me) degreaser spray to aid cleaning my wheels on my equally sizable Volvo estate, it was rubbish compared to elbow grease

On the choice of cleaning the car methods, I have used bucket and watering can for years, like most things you look for an easier method, seeing a cordless power washer advertised got me thinking if that might be a solution, but also for cleaning low gutters etc

I wasn't expecting much to be honest and it looks like that expectation was correct ;-)

In my searching I had come across the various grades of the Worx one, price was the first indication there was a difference, I wasn't looking to spend that much but it may have to be if I want something that works

I use a Lidl one to clean my van and car. Very pleased with it as I was able to find a larger Titan battery compatible.

Thats interesting to know, I will check out Lidl, both Aldi and Lidl get a lot of bad press re tools etc, largely unwarranted IMHO

Do you use it off a hose? or buckets etc?

Have the Ryobi one, probably the most I have ever been disappointed with a tool. Getting lumps of mud off it works but so does a hose, actually cleaning anything you will struggle.

Thanks for yours, in my case its the lack of a hose that is causing the main problem

Its just the layout of our place which means its not a situation where I could add a tap so was looking for alternative ways to remove gull droppings (you would think they were flying cows actually)

I've got a Greenworks pressure washer and I can't fault it. Mine came with a 4Ah battery and charger which is plenty for washing a Mk3 Mondeo.

Available at Screwfix but without the battery and charger, search and you'll probably find a better deal maybe go direct to Greenworks.

Its not cheap is it, odd they sell an item but do not appear to supply the means to use it? I can't see either the battery or charger listed? I can't recall ever coming across a supplier doing that

But however you get a battery and charger, its to pricy for my pocket at present but do appreciate the feedback

Just checked their own site, its the same price of £180 there but requires a battery and charger which adds another £150 for the cheapest option

I use both the supplied flexible bucket but prefer to use a larger 20 litre. I haven't attached to a hose, but may try out at my allotment if the weather stays like this. I did have a go at mud and moss on my tarmac drive. Not as good as a pressure washer.

Greenworks kit is very good, I’ve got a mower, thatcher, blower, hedge trimmer (2), pole saw, strimmer , and drills.
Pleased with them all.

I did look at it, there seems a lot around this price bracket, I will have to sit down and make comparisons, the name of the site puts me off though, not sure why

But that will have to wait until I am free of this virus
