I've been wondering about buying a cordless blower for blowing dirt into one corner to make sweeping up easier. I'd be using it for mostly leaves, and lawnmower clippings.

I was thinking of going for the Bosch one as I already have a battery and it's pretty cheap at only £55. Are they any good? not just the Bosch but blowers in general?

I like to use my Titan for blowing the dust off me at the end of a session and that works really well, but I don't want to lug it around the garden. According the stats, the Bosch blower is about half the m3/hr, but I guess you don't want it too powerful as you'll have less control over making a pile?

I found with the blower function on my vacuum that as soon as I met a corner the dust just went up in the air, I have since abandoned that idea and stay with a vacuum, but in the garden that is a different matter if you want to move leaves or blow grass cuttings off a paved area, blowing is the preferred method.

I purchased the Bosch battery blower for my FIL to replace a mains powered one that was too heavy for him. The Bosch is excellent, relatively light and quite powerful. If you have a lot of garden to clear then a couple of batteries would be beneficial but we have not needed one.

I was quite surprised to see just how small it was. I'm now debating getting one of the garden ones with the long spout. Like this :

Wouldn't it just fill the air with dust?

Some commercial workshops have switched from sweeping up to vacuuming up for just this reason, a blower sounds like a step in the other direction. I guess you should at least wear a mask if you use a blower.

Just a thought.

This is for leaves and mower clippings

I have a Ryobi 2 stroke blower vac. Changes from blow to suck at the flick of a lever so I can blow leaves into a sort of pile then suck them up into the attached bag. The bag can get a bit heavy, especially if the leaves are wet, but it is a very useful tool.
