Compressor and Air Tool Oil

Any ideas on what oil to use :

a) in the compressor
b) in the air tools

The reason I ask in my manuals don't say what type or grade.

We use a non silicon air tool oil branded as "Marvel" we get it from the same company we buy our air tools. There are plenty of airtool oils not sure of the properties though. You should be able to buy it a range of sizes from 100ml up to 25 litre drums from you local airtool dealers.

Thanks Dave, the one place I didn't look Its exactly what I need, and they aren't too far away. 5 Litres is a bit too much, got to be about 25 years worth :lol:

Up in Lancs/Yorks I get both from Thorite (Thomas Wrihght of Bradford, branches everywhere) - they're not the same thing - but any compressed air centre should be able to supply

My local Halfords sells compressors and air tools as well as a range of accessories including air line fittings and oil. Probably not the cheapest or the best but handy if you need something in a hurry.

Hi George, I tried Halfords and although they had 5L ( £18 ) of "Advanced" compressor oil no joy on the air tool oil.
