I'll take some later. The shop looks like a bombs gone off. For complicated reasons beyond my control I've got three projects on the go at the same time and there's stuff everywhere, If I can find a bit of worktop to lay it all out I will and take a pic or two.

mine's full of turkey left overs and booze :?

Not for long tho

My Christmas presents this year. A dovetail saw, a Japanese Mitre Square and my secret santa gifts. Honing soap, rule and stop and a dovetail marking gauge. Very pleased with what I had. Not had time to try them out yet but tomorrow...... :D :D :D

I gave SWIMBO a list of 10 or 12 items from Axminster with their ref nos and said that any of them would be useful in the shop...sort of a Axiwishlist  She got me one of those rather posh leather aprons. Gota go back though as part of the binding hasn't been sown onto the main part of the apron, which is a shame :( so I'll get a replacement later on. She also got me some of those brass spacer measurement thingies in a nice box and a packet of French Curves. I'll just say that again...Curves (wots used on the drawing board) - Rob

No photos yet, but the haul is:

Veritas dovetail saw
David C DVD (plane sharpening)
David C book
The Handplane book
Scary Sharp float glass and sheets.
Book on making wooden locks.
Book on making wooden marble games.
Veritas camber roller for the sharpening jig.

The inlaws were down for Christmas. They were somewhat bemused by my reaction to a 75 minute DVD on how to sharpen a plane blade ;)

Yes sorry it was a gloat really but you all got plenty of notice it was comming!!!

No sign of a recession or credit crunch in this thread is there, I got nowt  nowt to do with woodworking anyway, I did get some Booze to drown my sorrows though :eek:ccasion5:

Well I got this little fella for Christmas, tested it on some very difficult oak earlier - knots and grain all over and a very hard piece too - it was causing my BUS some difficults with the knot and moving grain, but after an initial fettle and sharpen it was away. Love it already and my first LN plane

Hands down, you win Mark.

Tho, this has prompted something I was thinking today. Next year you're haul will be greatly reduced. Seriously. All the attention will be diverted to the little'n. My Dad used to spoil me rotten, right up til last xmas. This year my booty totalled less than £60 and then between my missus and all her sisters, I'd get a fair bit of gloat worthy toolage. This year I watched baby rip open present after present and I realised that I'd finally reached adulthood. I may have been a grumpy b'stard since my teens, but now I'm a Daddy and now it's my turn to do the spoiling.

Life.

Absolutely Wizer, I made a (albeit joking) fuss of the fact that this would be the last Christmas where I would be my wife and mum's favourite before I become the one showering my little one with the gifts.

Seems that they were listening to me :D

To be honest though mate, I can't wait until she is old enough to understand what Christmas is and have the excitement of checking the Santa tracker with her, putting out carrots, mince pies and Brandy and seeing her face when she sees the tree piled up with gifts, can't wait! :D

Cheers

Mark

tis great. Like yours, our daughter was just a tiny baby last year. Whilst at 1yrs old she still doesn't really understand the concept of presents and Christmas, She's had a hell of a lot of fun and (luckily for mummy and daddy) has been shattered at the end of each day.

Last night was sis-inlaw's birthday. I couldn't make it because of my back and the concoction of drugs. Bubba laid in bed with me, we read a book and eventually she fell asleep on my 'mouse' arm. ;)

Great present, I got one of them 2 years ago on Christmas eve, so obviously I haven't got any photos this year.
