Are you left handed, Lord Nibbo?

Yes I am, but don't be misled by the pic. I prefer to have my left hand on the knob at the back and right hand on the knob on the side of the plane, so I would prefer to use it on a right handed shooting board. So is the pic set up for left handers or right handers? Being left handed I would say the pic shows it set up for a right hander or am I missing something?

Interesting!! I don't (yet!!) use a shooting board, but I hadn't imagined using my plane "left-handed" (being a right-hander). I'll have to have a little think about this one.......

Tom - I've been after a 45deg square like that for a time now...care to elaborate where it was purchased? - Rob

Yes Axi, I had one on my last order very nice and reasonably priced.

Regards Tom

Tom,

I've just been totting up, and with a little check through some old postings can say with some certainty that you now own absolutely everything. There is no need for you to ever have any new tools ever again in your whole life......done, everything, full gamut, tee-shirt.....

So there we are, your last-ever gloat-posting!!

Now, I want you to do your level best to wear all of them out!! :D

Mike

Nice try Mike. I haven't seen my mum yet ;)

That's not to mention the January sales present I simply have to get myself (maybe a domino). Oh and then there's the show in Feb and West Dean, Cressing Temple......

Humour me Mike. I'm spending most days in bed while my back tries to get the better of me.

The good news is that with the new year is coming up, another project is just 11 months away :D

Yeah, but anything else you get now Tom would be just superfluous, and really would be better off given to those with less......(almost every other woodworker on here!).....

Cressing Temple? What's on there, and when? That is only just round the corner from me.....

Dodgy tin-tack? I've suffered for years...........and the best advice I can give you is to get up as soon as you can bear it, and move around. A bit of sitting, a bit of standing, a bit of walking........take big tablets if you need to. The very worst thing for your back is lots of sitting.......the next worst is lots of lying down (and isn't trying to get out of bed an absolute nighmare?).

Hope you feel better soon.........and stop collecting tools!

It might be he last tool gloat but I noticed that he has started to make things (out of wood  ) so there will be some gloats

Lets hope it continues, back allowing of course

I know what your saying about those who have lesser than me, but I am who I am and if my back problems do ever get better then I'll have much more fun in the workshop. Actually this year's presents really where needs.

I've needed a bigger square for ages and my arbortech will give me some fun in the spring.

Anyway. If you want to hear at least some of the saga with my back, have a look near the end of the secret santa thread.

Wizer Mike is spot on when it comes to getting mobile as quick as you can , i have shermans disease so i suffer a lot with my back , i worked for nissan for a fair few years and the physio team were amazing and they always told me to get on my feet asap and after speaking to one of the leading back guys in the world he told me the same thing
Oh and the diazipan really help as they stop the muscles going into spasm however dont even look at any sharp moving tools after you have taken them .
Im sure you have been given all this advice before so i just wish you a quick recovery so you can get back into your shop and start using your christmas presents :D

indeed the miracle of xmas was that I could finally get out of bed and cook the dinner. In some respects it was the best xmas since I was a little boy. Watching my baby open her presents and the pride in cooking a slap up meal with out a single hiccup. I'm a little sore today and am going to rest tomorrow. But Sunday will be workshop day. No electric power tools tho as I am indeed on Diazepam.

I <knew> I was getting old - no serious tool presents for me, I just had to buy stuff for my daughter's jewellry work :(
But to be honest, I can't think of any more tools I need. Which I guess is a gloat in itself! Though maybe a cheap Startrite 210............

Shame on all of those who have nor posted pics. It's the law around here, you know.

No photo, as no presents, not even a pair of socks. :(
Though a rep did give me a bottle of whiskey on the 23rd, i`d post a photo of that but i doubt you`d want to see an empty bottle. :D
