A friend gave my wife some greenhouse glass so i was promptly instructed to "get on and make me a greenhouse " So because its good to keep the peace at home i got on with it

May not be the prettiest greenhouse ever made but the wife loves it and it was a lot cheaper than buying one   :D

That looks fantastic Mic. I'd better not show swmbo or else she'll want me to make one.

Looks nice and solid, should last a good few years. As WiZer says, the tomatoes will soon fill it up - make sure you give 'em plenty of water though.

Well thank you all for your kind coments :D :D

I was worried about posting some pictures up after seeing what you lot can turn out , some of the craftsmanship on this site is superb 8)

I feel proper pleased with myself now :D

yep - as the others - nice job !

the only comment I can make is about the corrugated roof. I used that on my green house too - great in the summer, but you need to block the holes up else the wind whistles through when its a bit colder !

Thats a good point , i was going to fill them with the shaped foam end fillers that are preformed to the profile of the roof but i chose to leave them out to aid ventilation ,,,, I thought a greenhouse had to have ventilation

I will leave them out for now i think and put them in a bit later in the year .

they DO need ventilation - and plenty of it ! so you are correct.

but its best if you can choose when and how much.

I find in the colder months, you can keep a constant good few degrees higher than outside if you can seal it up at night or when its windy. and fully ventilate on the odd warmer day, but with the roof gaps open - it follows the outside temp more or less !

I wouldn't worry too much about the corrugated roof. My old poly tunnel had no door and holes galore. I still managed to fill the freezer (and everyone elses) with tomato sauce.

Nice work, you should be very pleased with the finished result. :)

Not sure about the gap down one side of the door though - please tell me you haven't closed it properly, or that it's because of the camera angle...? :?
