Hi Mike

I'm fine whatever way. I guess some people wont want any 6x4s and others wont want 1/2 inch stuff and some wont want loads of boards so maybe dividing it up when we're there is the better way to do it?

If everyone arrives at 10 would there be enough room to park or would we cause a jam?

I reckon people should just show and work it out like gentlemen - perhaps we should all agree that mike has the final word in the unlikely event of any dispute :D

i cant see time slots working as those with early slots would still get first pick , and also for those coming from a way away (like me - i'm coming from swindon via oxford) would only need a bit of traffic to blow their timeslot.

another point mike - whats the access like tarmac, farm track, or third day of the somme :D ? ( I have a 4x4 so i'm easy but i'm thinking of those coming in vans and cars)

In the interests of fairness, I am going to close the list as of now (unless I have made a mistake!).

Therefore, my final list of those having some of this oak is as follows:

Big Soft Moose
Bloonose & Friend
Jon Lawrence
Cutting 42
Peter T
Mick the Tree
Wizer
Promhandicam
Dave L
CNC Paul
Gggranpa
Trim the King
Robert MP
MarkW
Miles_Hot
(plus James Alder from another forum)

Please let me know if I have left you off in error!!

Thanks

Mike

Mike

as per my earlier pm Ive already agreed to pick up a couple of cu ft for miles_hot - but hes not on your list. I hope this okay - if theres a shortage he can have a couple of the cu feet off my share.

PS - I hope you've remembered to save some for your own use ;)

Sorry BSM.....my error, I'll edit the list accordingly.

Mike

I've closed the list in the hope that there might be a bit left over for me!!! :D

another point mike - whats the access like

Mike does have the final say as I own the timber!!! :D But I am confident that as there is more than enough to go around there won't be any disputes........

Access for vehicles is decent farm track less than 100 yards long, and fine for any car. I will try and get some of the machinery (tractors etc) moved so that there is plenty of room for parking etc.

Access on foot into the building is more of an issue. There are two normal sized single doors to negotiate, and with turns, 2 people on 12 foot boards are going to block the way pretty effectively. You really will just have to be patients..........or maybe we can set up a "chain gang" to get the stock outside, and then choose the stuff everyone wants.

The surrounding farmyard is semi-derelict, and there are brambles even within the shed where the timber is stored. Everything is filthy (although this should really only affect the top boards on the stacks). So, I say again........don't forget gloves, decent footwear, and a dust mask.

Mike

Unfortunately, due to suddenly changed commitments I now won't be able to partake and must withdraw. Which leaves a bit more for the rest of you to fight over - like gentlemen of course.

Mike, p.m. sent.

sounds like a plan mike - as i'm bringing the work vehicle i will have spare gloves if anyone has forgotten. I will also have a chainsaw/safety gear and am happy to aid with the shortening of boards to ease any possible queue for the RAS if necessary
