I’ve had a Kity 419 for a little under 5 years now. Generally it’s a competent machine and does most things I want.
My major gripe is in changing the blade angle. It has a combination rise/fall/angle adjust hand wheel and when changing the angle the spring loaded hand wheel has to be pushed in to engage with a set of teeth on the cabinet and hence control angle changing.
The problem comes when releasing the hand wheel, - there are two grub screws that slide into castellations on the spindle (which then control rise and fall) but if the hand wheel has been turned to set the angle it won’t always slide back into position and it’s then impossible to alter the rise and fall as the hand wheel is effectively locked in angle adjust mode (does this all make sense?).
I ripped the (plastic) teeth off of one hand wheel and am close to condemning a second. Does any other Kity owner have the same problem and if so have you found a way round it?
I’ve been in touch with NMA and they haven’t been the most understanding or supportive based on machine age.
