Some time back I mentioned the varying speed of my BT broadband, I now find that during the weekdays it is around 3megs but at weekends in the evenings it has been down to 80KPS, which is clearly unacceptable. I know that the system will slow down with heavy traffic, but down to dial up speeds that to me seems very poor. Should I pluck up courage and ring Delhi, dreading that.

I had speed problems where the speed would slowly get worse over a week . interleaving applied to the line helped a lot ( it reduces crosstalk that can be greater in high traffic ) as did cutting the third wire to each lju and installing a main filter unit on the master lju and removing the individual filters i did all the work myself so i can provide more info.

Old I would be interested in more info if you could find the time to PM me.

ADSL Face plate splitter.

Telephone point wiring.

At the main bt lju The third wire on 3 is removed so only 2&5 are used modern telephones with electronic ringers do not need the ring wire on 3.
adsl face plate splitter replaces original and 2&5 are transferred this provides adsl connection and filters all other telephones on the system so remove any existing filters.
interleaving is applyed to line by BT on request from your ISP and makes line more able to cope with corruption of data but may slow gaming speed slightly.
The ADSL line is self adjusting so give it time to settle to its best speed. if the above optimumising does not fix it then look at modem/router or your bt line and may be ISP equipment.

Hi Pete,

I wouldn't have a problem ringing BT. When I had a problem with slow internet, they sent a guy and he just sorted it, no problem, no charge.

regards

Brian
