I have been refurbishing a chest of drawers for the last few days and had some time on my hands while the veneer was in glue up.
A friend had asked me for a small box to house his gun in. I had a few offcuts of oak and half a sheet of felt so bit by bit I made this for him.

Luckily it is a friend as I made a major boo boo on it! ......Did you notice the name on the top?

Yes it's the wrong way up! Doh! Oh well he got it cheap.

Nice box, let down by that cheap catch

Nice box, very nice lined interior, is it hard or spongey under the felt?

Re. the inlay you could just say you were following the current trend for laptop logos.

Is that a deact. or a replica? Either way it looks decent quality from your photo.

Nothing wrong with that.
Weapon is safely stored, job done.

If it is a real weapon, I have to disagree as there is no lock.

Real modern pistols were banned in this country, as I know to my cost, so it is unlikely to be a working gun.

Yes mike I too gave up my guns a few years ago. No actually it is an airsoft pistol, one of the many he uses to 'keep his hand in' He does use a real Glock in his job but that is safely under lock and key. The base under the pistol is made of MDF and sculpted with the router to hold the pistol. I made contour cuts going deeper towards the centre. Then sanded the edges off the contours to sculpt it to shape. I then lined it with felt. HTH. Could have kicked myself when I put the lid back on and saw the logo though.
