That looks good enough to eat!! - Lovely pattern on the top, and the contrasting woods look superb.

Nice work lugo35 :)

pipper!!!! And I thought I could make boxes
Thats one of the nicest boxes by far I've seen on this forum. Well done Lugo. Have you promised to fill it though??? 8-[

Now that is absolutely marvelous.

These bxes that people make, do they sell them at craft fairs, if so how much do they fetch.

Might have a go myself, when I get the router table finished :D

thankyou for your comments. personally mowtown i only make them for the enjoyment and give them to family and friends. this one was given to my mum she seen the christening box ( previous post) and the usual "you dont make anything for me". so shes now happy :D
as for jointing the corners  super glue but the top and bottom are then rebated to fit to give it some strength .

would like to know how much these would sell for myself. for the time envolved would have thought £100's but who would pay it??????

I would imagine you could only sell them for about £25, it's just a way of getting some money back to buy some more wood.

A friend of mine has told me to start making things so we can have stall at a craft Fair, he's made whistles, pen holders, mirrors and other things and sold them at craft fairs. I have only just started woodworking and I bet I start making all the Family's Christmas presents

Rather than post the url address, in the properties you can copy and paste the Image properties location, like this

Right click on the pic, then left click on properties. Them a properties box will popup. Highlight the Image Properties Location by dragging across it, it will start with http and will always end at jpg, when highlighted (blue colour) hold down Ctrl and press c you will now have copied the location. On your posting in the forum is click on the (img) button then hold down Ctrl and press v. you have now pasted the url address, lastly click on the (img) again. Thats it.

That's the mother of beauty Lugo35

Don't worry about the Super glue, my first coffee table, 13 years ago was joint solely with...Super glue...it's still standing as one piece...

Lugo
a model aircraft building pal of mine says he mixes pva with cyno as that way you get the immediate strength of the cyno but with the long term strength of the pva, plus no clamps needed
I have not tried it myself . . . . . . . . . . yet

Lugo,

That is a stunning box, I bet your mum is well chuffed with it.

I know that in today's age of cheap (and often inferior in my opinion) imports that a lot of people would only expect to pay £25. However, I think that something like this, prices in the £100s is much more realistic. If a prospective customer won't pay that, then don't sell it to them and tell them to go and see if they could make one themselves.
