I recently picked up a plywood offcut from Whittens . It is a birch mix of sap and heartwood with great colour and grain. They then tell me it is packaging ply and not sold in sheets. But it has a Russian label on the back stating size etc. so I dont believe them.

Most places I go to simply sell the sheets as birch or whatever and you just take what you are given.

I want the mix of sap and heartwood which creats this pattern so any idea where I can find a stockist ?

Thanks

Have to say it looks like the packing sheet i received with my last order of Birch ply, which i left on the truck for them to dispose of. Driver asked me if i wanted it as it would go in the skip when he got back to the yard, but i had too much stuff to process as it was.

If the one you have was on top of a pack of say 50 sheets, it would make sense for it to have the size and other info on it.

I think that would be classed as Grade C ,CP or WG used where face appearance is not important i.e. packing cases and furniture carcasses, WG would have large open knots/ patches/open defects, staining and discoloration.
