She's right, of course. But she chose to live here, so how can she complain? She can go back to the US of A, where service, street cleanliness and weather are different, and some might say are better. But we have certain aspects of life that a thousand and more years of intermixing have melded into a culture which is unique, and has a certain solidity which I can't explain, but beats the American, sorry, 'Murcan equivalent by a mile.
Please understand me, I'm not knocking America. I have loved my visits there, and found the people to be friendly and welcoming, and the lifestyle enviable in many ways. The country itself is amazing, and so varied.
But you know where you are with Britain. Despite it's faults it's tried and tested, and takes some beating.
