I had a laugh this morning, one of the announcers said he doesnt know why commuters dont have an elastic
band attached to their mobile telephone, his journeys into London seems as if commuters are checking their mobiles every few minutes.

Reminds me I havent checked mine for at least 3 weeks.

I have a pay as you go mobile phone. I got it in April as a cast off from my daughter and an unused T-Mobile SIM. I have to date made about 6 calls, and still have over £12 credit out of the £20 I put on it at start up.

It is supposed to do all sorts of wizzo things, which I never use. It is switched off unless I want to make a call (we have no mobile signal at home, so it is only used when away from home).

I cannot remember the last time I checked it, but it must be about the same period as you, devonwoody.

I know, Roger. It's a crying shame, but I will just have to live without such stimulating conversations, not to mention the vast sums of money that just might be heading my way if only I took the calls!! :lol: :lol:

I can identify with that! I don`t feel bad about missing all those PPI messages - I get them on my landline instead. :lol:

Son number it decided it was about time I joined the technological society and bought me a mobile (pay-as-you-go) effort, that was three years ago, he put ten squids on it then and I have since added a further fifteen, this thing will have to go, it's costing me too much money!!!

Must say though, there are only two people that have my number, me and the wife.

Hi all,
I have a similar approach to mobile phones. No signal at home and no interest in having a phone permanently attached to my hand. I have to admit they are really useful in the right circumstances such as a car breakdown, but my phone (my daughter's latest cast off - yet again) stays switched off normally. It's such a shame really, because it can do so much - there's a calendar, organiser, games, etc. All things I can do without. Reminds me of when we had Sky TV. All those hundreds of channels and practically nothing worth watching. Being able to miss so many TV programmes is such good value.

I found it useful whilst commuting to claw back some valuable leisure time, like reading a forum such as this to get some useful tips etc., whilst dealing with mail. Work isn't generally doesn't yield a lot of leisure time, and it's a shame direct social intercourse is being sacrificed

I dont reckon a lady under 45 can leave home without checking her mobile before she gets to the end of her street.

It all started you know with CB radio, they found that there was a demand to talk on the air to anyone.
