hi all

OK thanks for your input I am gonna go with my band saw & try & up grade it so does anyone know where i can get a rip fence & mitre for my old Bas 315 - I was sure i had one but apparently not.
I have rung the work shop at Metabo with no joy thus far, so any suggestions or offers would be appreciated.

THAT fence system is the worst, worst thing ever created.
You need a square at all times, aswell as a small socket with two heads at all times, since you
have to remove the fence and rails everytime you change blades.
Now when you put it back on you have to....
insert fence rail and tighten it up...this will also mean that the table will now have to be leveled again
because the slot in the table will be misaligned.
Then you have to put the fence back on, and will need to square it up again.
Its all made out of poxy aluminum and after all that faffing about
It won't stay put when it's tight.

I have made two threads for the Elektra Beckum bas315
One was home made guides for it , and the other was a mobile base design
with a foot lever.

The first thing I would try is ripping on the thing
as mine is not cabable of doing so...
This possibly could be because of some damage caused previously before I got it.

I made the Steve Maskery rip fence - very solid and works well, especially with the fine adjuster.

Get it running right with a flat batten clamped up, before you decide to buy a fence worth probably more than the tools worth.
I've never seen them on less than a 14" saw
