Hi All

Ok, this may seem like a bit of a daft question, but I am going to ask anyway.

What is the best Bandsaw blade lubricant?

hope sombody knows?

thanks for the reply. I only ask as I have been told that a little blade lubricant helps with resawing.

I have bought some olson blade lubricant.

I will post how that turns out.

I don't use lube, either. A good blade properly set up shouldn't need it. If I were to use something, I'd just rub a candle on the blade, but even then only on the outside, I wouldn't want anything to get on to the the tyres.

Cheers

Be careful, I generally to avoid this, as if over enthusiatic the blade will keep slipping no matter how much you tighten it. Once the wheels get coated, it will happen for some time.

Something good for a new blade it to use, say, a diamond file under tension and power to round off the back sligtly. It help for 2 things, it reduces drift on some blades, but also allows nicer curves, since a good method with curves is to slightly push the wood on the back of the blade as a support, and this works much better with the back eased off.
