Fed up!
First thing this morning I got a letter and parcel. Parcel is form Woodrat and should be #2 cutter set (1/2", 9 pieces) but is in fact a #1 set (8mm, 6 pieces) but in a #2 box. Phone call gets the right one posted out but probably won't get it until Monday - when I am back at work
Letter is from Parcelforce claiming £14.18 VAT and £13.50 clearance fees on my order of push pads that Chris recommended http://woodworker.com/cgi-bin/FULLPRES.exe?PARTNUM=124-205
I heard these were posted out 19 days ago and have been quite excited about getting them (must get out more, I know).
Well, as they cost £12 to buy, I queried the charges with Parcelforce after 46 minutes on hold. They say, "nothing to do with us mate, speak to customs and excise." BUT, the letter is from Parcelforce says I, on your letter headed paper. No, says them, it is sent by C&E and only they can change the charges.
Phoned C&E, (only took 15 minute to get to speak to someone this time), and they had told parcelfarce that no charges were due as the total value is less than £18. They will fax PF and ask PF to fax some info to C&E. Oh, and they say that PF sent the letter to me, not C&E.
The farce continues and I get closer to killing the lot of them - I have wasted a whole morning of my hols on this.
Moral? Don't just pay the charges on the sheet, check first.
Thanks for listening, it helped
