tony, sorry to hear that you have still not got the bits.
seems like someone somewhere in pf is a woodworking wannabe.

my usual trial at this point is to write a letter to the md with his full name
which you should be able to get from the web site. not sure if it is
adam crozier. and also get trading standards in place. make sure the letter gives them some time limits and suggest that you will go to the small claims court to obtain recompense.

they generally do not appear, so then you get the judgement.

it is inconceivable that pf should have had the goods two months ago to
charge you wrongly, and then now have lost them, what about these fabulous tracking computer system???

i have to say i think it is always safer to pay the extra for fed ex
or ups, unless you know a shipping agent.

lets us know more
paul

I'm sure you are all fed up to the hind teeth with this sorry saga by now but today I (potentially) received good news. Parcel force phoned me, yes, they phoned me!!

The parcel is now at the Leicester depot, there are no charges to be paid AND it will be delivered tomorrow

We'll see

Good for you. Surprising outcome.

I ordered a rather expensive (400 + squid) Suunto D6 dive computer from Jersey t'other day. Despite being R.M Special Delivery 'Next Day', it has taken 10 days to finally "extract" my parcel from Royal Mail this morning, after seemingly endless phone calls. I've been passed between Customs, Parcelforce and Royal Mail with indifference and a plethora of excuses as to the whereabouts of it. Final excuses offered were, "couldn't deliver - customer was unknown"!, followed by, "Sorry, we can't find it right now, can I call you tomorrow?". R.M were trying to bounce me between two sorting offices. Dogged persistence and awkward questioning finally paid off. Stroud Sorting Office realised in the end that I had independently verified that the parcel had arrived there the week before. After getting all defensive over why and to whom had I been talking too at the Gloucester office, lo and behold, it was suddenly 'found' while I was still on the phone.

Needless to say I legged it to the sorting office straight away, otherwise I could imagine my goods being on Ebay next week.

Royal Mail, Parcelforce - thievery seems to be endemic in the organisation. I assume management are ineffective in stopping it so they cover it up. I was chatting to a colleague who for a time when a student, worked in a sorting office. One of the scams going on (mainly temps doing it) was for postal workers to have on them pre-printed address labels. While sorting, if a parcel took their fancy, surrepticiously slap their own address label over the original label and pop it in the appropriate pidgeon hole. The posties then kindly but unwittingly deliver stolen goods.

Still stuck in the office but recieved a text from mrs T earlier today to say that a parcel (covered in dust and cobwebs no doubt) is awaiting my return.

I must say I am extremely impressed with the service I got. Only 7 weeks to deliver half way across England but 3 whole days to come from America to our fair shores!

Did you actually get an explanation the reason for its late delivery?
A lot of red faces and stumbling apologies to me and mrs T. Lost in transit is the official line but the mystery charges must have something to do with it IMO

Still awaiting the written apology and compensation and so will rite to parcel farce head office once again
