Brilliant Espares have the board at £275!
......
Two weeks wait - comes from Italy if they have it in stock in the first place.
Ditto from SMEG but £170 a lot cheaper than Espares.
So no guarantee that it will work, even in two weeks time.
A big expensive stove - very poor service that you can't get spares easily so won't be having another SMEGGY thing!
n.b. Hotpoint do 10 year parts guarantee on similar stove. I would have been covered.
I've always preferred freestanding over built-in but having second thoughts - if they are this vulnerable it makes more sense to have separate bits so the whole thing won't all fail at once. Cheaper too.

Have a look at the Neff combination oven, it's a Microwave, grill and fan oven all in one, had ours about fifteen years and still works fine, induction hob is also Neff, but that's recent.

Seriously, just sent it to me. With a good chance it can be fixed for like £20 for shipping here and back, and £20 for parts. Would be cheaper than £170...

Very generous offer Andrey. (y)

Sadly knowing Jacob's luck - he'll get charged Import Duty, VAT and Postal Service\Courier handling charge (with VAT on that) on it's return to the UK.

Thanks for that Andrey. Already paid for the replacement - I'll see how it goes.
It's really bad that SMEG a top name in quality goods isn't set up for repairs and servicing themselves.
I've got Italian woodwork machine (SCM minimax) and their servicing is brilliant. Only used it twice but diagnosis over the phone and next day arrival of parts ( a switch, a capacitor)

Thanks for the advice.
The PCB turned up in 11 days so that was better than SMEG said.
I took pot luck and fitted it without any further examination. It worked so that's OK. They couldn't provide me with a wiring diagram anyway. They seemed surprised that I'd be ordering for bits which they didn't stock, for a 7 year old stove! They clearly have no expectation of reliability!
Bought a combi microwave as standby as something tells me the SMEG is going to fail again and will be scrap.
