Alternative rails for dewalt plunge saws

Most know that the Dewalt rails are not great for joining together.
Here’s how I modified Makita rail for a cheaper alternative to using Festool rails.

I used a 12mm straight router bit with a 20mm guide bush.

I made a jig using off cuts of mdf,
the 20mm hole is offset 6mm to where I wanted the lip cut off.

Slow and steady single pass from right to left

What cutter were you using?

Of course for even cheaper guide rails you could gave gone for Triton , or cheaper yet Evolution rails.

Same technique would work to get a TS75 (Festool) running on a Makita rail (that lip stips you using the two together) - very useful if you want a more affordable 3m rail

Just a standard straight 12mm trend bit, just moved router slow with the speed at its highest

Yes definitely and even the exell makitia copy ones.
Apart from the Evo rails you still need to cut the anti tilt lip off for the dewalt saws
