I'm after a woodworking adze if anyone has one they wish to sell.

Ideally i'd like 2- a large long handled one and a small one.
I need the scooped head variety rather than the straight headed one though.

Thanks.

Hi, Matt, I've got a couple you can borrow if its just for a specific job, if that's any help.
John.

Don't suppose you're carving a chair seat, by any chance?
No mate, just for a bit of messing about (small) and to try adzing a table top mousey thompson style (larger adze)

Thanks mate,
I don't need one urgently more for a bit of messing and a potential commision. I'll trawl the bay and see whats there.

I'd never heard of an adze. It just looked like a typo to me.

Just had a look on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjFn5g96-Kc looks like hard work but a nice style of working........
In the right hands, using an adze is quite accurate. Used mostly in days of yore by shipwrights to fashion ships timbers.
However, in the wrong or inexperienced hands 8-[ ...or should that be feet (or the lack of?) - Rob

Yeah I can imagine that a swing-and-miss might smart a little :?

It's not my kind of thing, far too energetic and I would never trust myself...
