I have a contract coming up which needs eight quarter-columns, 800mm long, largest radius about 240mm. I've done paper jointed turnings before, but much smaller and just in half, not quarters. Has anyone out there done something similar, and if so, any tips?
Thanks for looking!
Pete

Put a piece of ply at each end or your drive centres can split the joint, and gaffa tape is a great safety belt

In addition to a ring centre & plywood ends, cable ties or jubilee clips should keep it together if the worst happens.

Thanks. I can't screw into the tops but I could paper- joint a piece of ply to the ends as well. It's going to be on quite low revs I think!
