For what it's worth: My opinion: DON'T GO! I just got here. There are forums out there for all types of interests. I frequent several, pertaining to land surveying, lawn mower repair, and other things, but this one is for woodworking. General Chat from woodworkers isn't the same as general chat from other people. Sometimes, even when the topic has nothing to do with woodworking, I value the opinions of people who are passionate about woodworking, and like to hear how they think about other things as well. Working with wood lends itself to certain personality traits, not found in other pursuits.

I cancelled my Facebook account years ago. I have no intention of ever getting another one.

I regularly annoy wife and daughters by pointing out how much personal information they are placing in the hands of people they know nothing about. They still think it's a game.
